As an Ackermans cardholder, conveniently add the premium to your monthly account.

NO MEDICAL EXAMINATION

An applicant requires no medical examination in order to qualify for cover.

LIFETIME COVER

With an Ackermans Funeral Policy, your cover is for life if you take out cover between the ages of 18 and 64, and as long as we receive your premiums.

NO WAITING PERIOD FOR ACCIDENTAL DEATH

Coverage for accidental death starts immediately after the first premium is paid.

GUARANTEED ACCEPTANCE

Acceptance for the funeral plan is guaranteed provided that all qualifying criteria are met.

* PLEASE NOTE:

• Cover for children ceases on the 25th birthday.
• No replacements are allowed if a specific child’s cover ceases.
• Another child cannot be added unless there were less than five children on the policy before the specific child’s cover ceased (Including any previous child’s cover ceasing).
• Children refer to: Dependents and unmarried children.

WAITING PERIOD:

• Coverage for accidental death starts immediately after the first premium is paid. There is no waiting period.
• A waiting period of 6 months and 6 consecutive premiums applies from the start of the policy for death from natural causes.

Please provide clear copies of the following documents:
• Police statement explaining the cause of death (for accidental deaths).
• Death certificate.
• Notification of death (Form BI-1663).
• Deceased’s ID.
• Beneficiary's ID.
• Your bank details and a recent bank statement.
• In some cases, additional information may be required. We will contact you if we need anything further.
• E-mail your documents and the claim form to: funeralclaims@iua.co

PLEASE NOTE:
IUA on behalf of Abacus has the right to inspect all documents provided and will communicate with the claimant on the progress of the claim.
