How do I determine my size in women's clothing?

The best way to find your perfect fit is to take three quick measurements at home: Bust – around the fullest part of your chest Waist – your natural waistline, just above your belly button Hips – around the widest part of your hips and bum Once you’ve got your numbers, you can use our size guide (you’ll find it on each product page) to see which size will work best for you. Our sizes are made with South African women in mind - so they’re designed to fit real bodies, with real curves.

Should I size up or down if I’m between sizes?

If you find yourself between two sizes, here’s a simple way to decide: If you like a bit more breathing room - especially around your bust, tummy or hips, go for the bigger size. It’ll give you a more relaxed, easy fit that still looks great. On the other hand, if you prefer a more fitted feel and don’t mind things a little snug, you can size down - just make sure it’s still comfy when you move. Some fabrics stretch a little, and some styles are meant to fit looser, so it’s also worth checking the product details when you’re shopping online.

Can I find clothing that fits my body shape?

That’s why our women’s clothing, especially our jeans, is designed to fit real South African bodies, with sizes that go all the way up to size 50. Whether you’re curvier at the hips, fuller in the tummy, smaller up top, or anything in between, we’ve got styles that are made to work with your shape, not against it. Can I return clothing if it doesn’t fit?

Yes, you can, because we know that sometimes the fit just isn’t quite right, and that’s okay. If you try something on at home and it doesn’t fit the way you’d hoped, you’re welcome to return it within 30 days of purchase. Just make sure the item is unworn, with the original tags still on, and that you bring along your till slip or proof of purchase. You can return or exchange your item at any Ackermans store nationwide.
