Terms and Conditions
- The promoter of the competition is Ackermans, a division of Pepkor Trading (Pty) Ltd (“the Promoter”).
- The name of the competition is “A-List September Giveaway 2026” (“the Competition”).
- The Competition will run from 1 September to 6 September 2026, both days inclusive (“the Competition Period”).
- By entering the Competition and/or accepting any prize, if you are a winner, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
- The Competition is open to participants residing within the Republic of South Africa who are either:
- South African citizens in possession of a valid South African ID book, ID card or birth certificate; or
- South African permanent residents in possession of a valid permanent residency permit.
You are not eligible to participate in this Competition if:
3. You are a director, member, partner, employee, agent or consultant of the Pepkor group of companies, its affiliates, divisions or subsidiaries, or any other person who supplies goods or services in connection with the Competition; or
4. You are a spouse, life partner, parent, child, sibling, immediate family member, business partner or associate of any of the persons specified above.
- Entry into the Competition is free. Participants may enter the Competition once only.
- Participants stand a chance to win one (1) of three (3) Ackermans virtual vouchers valued at R5,000 each (“the Prize”).
- The winners will be selected by means of a random computer-operated draw.
- By accepting the Prize, if you are a winner, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
- Ackermans reserves the right to disqualify any participant who enters using false information or by robotic, automated or other fraudulent means.
- The Prize is not transferable or exchangeable for cash.
- The draw will take place on 7 September 2026.
- Winners will be selected by random draw and notified via Instagram Direct Message. If a winner does not respond within 3 business days of being contacted, an alternative winner will be selected.
- The virtual vouchers will be sent via SMS to the winners’ contact numbers, as confirmed when contacted via Instagram Direct Message.
- Ackermans accepts no responsibility or liability for any loss or damage arising from or in connection with the Competition or Prize. Ackermans will also not be responsible or liable for any additional expenses or fees incurred for the purpose of using, applying or enjoying the Prize.
- The winners consent to Ackermans and its authorised agents using their names for publicity purposes, unless a winner expressly refuses such use.
- The Promoter reserves the right to vary, suspend, postpone or terminate the Competition, the Prize or any aspect thereof for any reason whatsoever and without prior notice. In such an event, you waive any rights or expectations you may have against the Promoter and acknowledge that you will have no recourse or claim of any nature against the Promoter.
- Your privacy is important to the Promoter and the Pepkor group of companies. The Promoter will use all reasonable efforts to ensure that any information, including personal information, provided by you or collected from you is processed in a secure and compliant manner. For more information, please refer to the Promoter’s Privacy Statement.
- You agree to provide Pepkor with accurate and current information and to maintain and update such information when necessary. Information collected by Pepkor may be used to send you information about products, services and special offers from the various companies within the Pepkor group that may be of interest or value to you. The Promoter and other companies within the Pepkor group may also process your information through their operators, agents and sub-contractors, including those located outside South Africa, provided that such processing is carried out in a compliant manner and that the confidentiality of the information is maintained.
- You acknowledge that any information supplied to the Promoter and the Pepkor group of companies in terms of these Terms and Conditions is provided voluntarily.
- By submitting any information to the Promoter and the Pepkor group of companies in any form, you acknowledge that such conduct constitutes unconditional, specific and voluntary consent to the processing of such information by the Promoter and the Pepkor group of companies under applicable law and in the manner contemplated above. Such consent shall, in the absence of any written objection received from you, remain valid for the period permitted or required under applicable law.
- Unless you have consented otherwise, the Promoter and the Pepkor group of companies will not sell, exchange, transfer, rent or otherwise make available your personal information, such as your name, address, email address or telephone number, to third parties. You indemnify the Promoter and the Pepkor group of companies against any unintentional disclosure of such information to unauthorised persons.
- Should you believe that the Promoter or the Pepkor group of companies has used your personal information contrary to applicable law, you agree to first attempt to resolve the matter directly with the Promoter or the Pepkor group of companies. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
- You may choose to be excluded from direct marketing by notifying the Promoter in writing or by registering a block on any registry that the Promoter is legally required to recognise. The Promoter will not charge you a fee to update this request on its systems and will give effect to any changes as soon as reasonably possible.
