“Send & Spend with Mukuru at Ackermans through Pay@” Competition
1. The promoters of the competition are Ackermans, a division of Pepkor Trading (Pty) Ltd (“Ackermans”), Mukuru Africa Pty LTd (“Mukuru”), and Pay At Services (Pty) Ltd (“Pay@”) (together “the Promoters”). Pay At Services (Pty) Ltd is a Licensed Financial Services Provider: FSP29423.
2. The name of the competition is “Send & Spend with Mukuru at Ackermans” (“the Competition”).
3. The Competition will run from 1 October 2026 to and including 31 October 2026 ("the Competition Period").
4. To enter the Competition, you must, during the Competition Period:
4.1. send R1 200.00 or more in a single qualifying Mukuru money transfer transaction; and
4.2. pay for that transaction at an Ackermans store, using Ackermans as your Mukuru pay-in point.
5. Each successful qualifying transaction completed in accordance with the clause above will count as one entry into the Competition. Multiple qualifying transactions will count as multiple entries.
6. The following will not qualify as entries into the Competition: transactions of less than R1 200.00; transactions that are cancelled, reversed, or refunded; and transactions paid at any pay-in point other than an Ackermans store.
7. By entering the Competition and/or accepting any prize (if you are a winner), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
8. The Competition is open to all participants within South Africa. You are not eligible to participate if:
8.1. You are a director, member, partner, employee, agent, or consultant of the Pepkor group of companies, Mukuru, Pay@, or any other person who supplies goods or services in connection with the Competition.
8.2. You are a spouse, life partner, parent, child, sibling, immediate family member, business partner, or associate of the persons specified above.
9. Entry into the Competition is free (excluding the cost of the qualifying transaction).
10. Entrants stand a chance to win one of 100 (one hundred) Ackermans shopping vouchers to the value of R500.00 (five hundred Rand) each, with a total prize value of R50 000.00 (fifty thousand Rand) across the Competition Period.
11. Winners will be drawn weekly. The number of winners drawn per week is allocated according to the number of trading days falling within each draw week, as follows:
11.1. Draw week 1: Thursday, 1 October 2026 to Saturday , 10 October 2026 – 32 (thirty-two) winners.
11.2. Draw week 2: Sunday , 11 October 2026 to Saturday , 17 October 2026 – 23 (twenty-three) winners.
11.3. Draw week 3: Sunday , 18 October 2026 to Saturday , 14 October 2026 – 23 (twenty-three) winners.
11.4. Draw week 4: Sunday , 25 October 2026 to Saturday, 31 October 2026 – 22 (twenty-two) winners.
12. Winners will be randomly selected by means of a computer-generated draw from all valid entries received during the relevant draw week. Draws will take place on the Monday following the close of each draw week, being 12 October 2026, 19 October 2026, 26 October 2026, and 2 November 2026 respectively.
13. Entries are valid only for the draw week in which the qualifying transaction was completed and will not carry over into any subsequent draw. An entrant may win a maximum of one (1) prize during the Competition Period.
14. Winners will be notified by SMS on the valid cell phone number linked to their Mukuru transaction record.
15. Prizes are issued by Ackermans through SMS only. In order to receive a prize, a winner must be able to receive a standard SMS on the cell phone number linked to their Mukuru transaction record. Cell phone numbers that are able to receive WhatsApp messages only, and that cannot receive a standard SMS, will not be able to receive a prize.
16. Each winner will be contacted telephonically by Mukuru to confirm that they can receive the voucher by SMS on that number. A voucher will only be issued and sent once this confirmation has been obtained from the winner.
17. Vouchers will be issued and delivered to winners by SMS by Ackermans on the Thursday following each draw, being 15 October 2026, 22 October 2026, 29 October 2026, and 5 November 2026 respectively, subject to delays. All prize fulfilment will be completed by no later than Monday 30 November.
18. Winners will be announced publicly on Mukuru’s social media platforms on the Friday following voucher fulfilment, being 16 October 2026, 23 October 2026, 30 October 2026, and 6 November 2026 respectively. Winners have the right to refuse that their names be published and should indicate their preference when contacted by Ackermans or Mukuru. This will not prejudice their chances of winning the prize.
19. Vouchers are redeemable in-store at Ackermans only, are valid until the date communicated in the SMS, and are subject to Ackermans’ standard voucher terms and conditions.
20. All prizes are not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash, and no change will be given on any unspent voucher value.
21. Should a winner not be contactable via phone call on the cell phone number linked to their transaction record after 3 (three) reasonable attempts on the draw date, should a winner decline the prize, or should a winner be unable to receive the voucher by SMS as set out above, the Promoters reserve the right to forfeit that prize and to draw an alternative winner.
22. The Promoters and their delivery agents do not accept responsibility or liability for any loss or damage and will not be responsible or liable for any further expenses or fees required for the purpose of using, applying, or enjoying the prize won in this Competition.
23. Winners give the Promoters and their authorised agents consent to use their names for publicity purposes, unless refused.
24. The Promoters reserve the right to vary, suspend, postpone, or terminate the Competition and any prizes, or any aspect thereof, for any reason whatsoever and without notice. In such event, you hereby waive any rights or expectations which you may have against the Promoters and acknowledge that you will not have any recourse or claim of any nature against the Promoters.
25. Your privacy is very important to Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies, Mukuru, and Pay@, and all reasonable efforts will be made to ensure that any information, including personal information, provided by you, or collected from you, is stored securely. 26. You agree to provide Pepkor with accurate and current information and to maintain and update such information when necessary. The information may also be processed by Ackermans, Mukuru, Pay@, and other companies in the Pepkor group, their operators, agents, and subcontractors (including outside South Africa) on condition that they will keep such information confidential and that processing will only occur in relation to this Competition and to comply with the terms herein.
27. You acknowledge that any information supplied to Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies in terms of these Terms and Conditions is provided voluntarily.
28. By submitting any information, you consent to the processing of such information by Ackermans, Mukuru, Pay@, and the Pepkor group of companies under applicable law.
29. Unless you have consented, Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies will not sell, exchange, transfer, rent, or otherwise make available any personal information about you to other parties. You indemnify them against any unintentional disclosures of such information to unauthorised persons.
30. Should you believe that Ackermans or the Pepkor group has utilised your personal information contrary to applicable law, you shall first resolve any concerns with them directly. If not satisfied, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
31. Ackermans and the Pepkor group of companies will not send you any direct marketing unless you have given your prior consent. You can choose to be excluded from direct marketing and is not a condition of entering the Competition or receiving a prize. You may withdraw your consent at any time by notifying Ackermans in writing or by registering a block on any registry which Ackermans is bound by law to recognise. Ackermans will not charge you a fee to update this request. Ackermans will give effect to any changes requested by you as soon as reasonably possible.
