These Terms and Conditions govern the Ackermans My Christmas Wish 2025 competition (“the Competition”) conducted by Ackermans, a division of Pepkor Trading (Pty) Ltd (“the Promoter”). Participation in this Competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. The Competition is open to all eligible participants as set out below. 

1. The Promoter is Ackermans, a division of Pepkor Trading (Pty) Ltd (“Ackermans”). 

2. The Competition is open to residents and citizens of the Republic of South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Namibia, and Lesotho who are in possession of a valid identity document, passport, or permanent residence permit. 

3. The following persons are not eligible to enter the Competition: 

• directors, members, partners, employees, agents, or consultants of the Promoter, its holding company, subsidiaries, or affiliates; 

• suppliers, service providers, or contractors involved in the administration of the Competition; and 

• immediate family members (spouse, life partner, parent, child, or sibling) or business associates of any person referred to above. 

4. The Competition will run from 3 November 2025 to 19 December 2025 (“the Competition Period”). 

5. Entries close on 12 December 2025. Winners will be announced weekly on Ackermans’ official social media channels, and the final winners will be announced during the week of 15–19 December 2025. Entries received after the closing date, 12 December 2025, will not be considered. 

6. To enter, participants must obtain an official entry form in-store or via their Ackermans e-commerce order during the Competition Period. 

7. Participants must write their Christmas wish on the official entry form, take a clear photograph of the handwritten wish, and upload it by scanning the QR code or visiting https://www.ackermans.co.za/my-christmas-wish.  

8. Only handwritten entries submitted on official Ackermans entry forms will be accepted. No purchase or proof of purchase is required to enter. 

9. Each participant may submit only one entry. 

10. Each entry must include the child’s name, age, town, and the parent or legal guardian’s name, email address, and contact number. 

11. Entries must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian on behalf of the child. By submitting an entry, the parent or guardian confirms that they consent to the child’s participation. 

12. Entry is free and no entry fee or premium rate charge applies. 

13. Winners will be selected by an internal Ackermans panel based on the nature of the wish and the motivation provided. 

14. The total prize pool will be awarded across multiple winners. Prize values and items will vary depending on the wish granted. 

15. Winners will be contacted telephonically using the contact details provided. If a winner cannot be reached within 24 (twenty-four) hours, Ackermans reserves the right to select an alternative winner. 

16. Winners (and their parents or legal guardians) may be required to provide valid proof of identity before any prize is awarded. 

17. Ackermans will facilitate all prize fulfilment, including cross-border delivery where applicable. Customs and import duties, if any, will be managed at Ackermans’ discretion. 

18. Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and may not be redeemed for cash. 

19. If a prize is unavailable in a specific country, Ackermans reserves the right to substitute it with a similar prize of equal value. 

20. The Promoter and its delivery agents do not accept any responsibility or liability for loss, damage, or injury of any nature arising from participation in the Competition or from the use of any prize. The Promoter will not be liable for any further expenses or fees required to use, apply, or enjoy the prize won. 

21. By participating in this Competition, each entrant grants the Promoter and its authorised agents the right to use their names, photographs, and related material for publicity purposes across Ackermans’ owned media channels, including (but not limited to) social media, the Ackermans website, press, and the Sound of Ackermans internal radio platform, unless the participant expressly refuses. 

22. Parents or guardians of winners will be required to sign a media consent form prior to any public exposure. 

23. All entry forms, wish submissions, and associated material become the property of Ackermans and may be used for marketing, promotional, or campaign storytelling purposes without additional compensation. 

24. The Promoter reserves the right to vary, suspend, postpone, or terminate the Competition and any prizes, or any aspect thereof, for any reason whatsoever and without notice. In such event, participants waive any rights or expectations they may have against the Promoter and acknowledge that they will not have any recourse or claim of any nature against the Promoter. 

25. All personal information provided by participants will be processed in accordance with applicable data privacy laws. 

26. The privacy of participants is important to the Promoter and the Pepkor group of companies. The Promoter will use all reasonable efforts to ensure that any information, including personal information provided by participants or collected from them is stored securely. 

27. Participants agree to provide the Promoter and Pepkor group with accurate and current information and to maintain and update such information when necessary. 

28. The information collected may be used to send participants information about products, services, and special offers from the various companies in the Pepkor group that may be of interest or value. 

29. The information may also be processed by the Promoter, the Pepkor group, and their operators, agents, and sub-contractors (who may be located outside South Africa) on condition that such information will be kept confidential. 

30. Participants acknowledge that any information supplied to the Promoter and the Pepkor group in terms of these Terms and Conditions is provided voluntarily. 

31. By submitting any information to the Promoter and the Pepkor group, participants further acknowledge that such conduct constitutes specific, voluntary, and informed consent to the processing of such information by the Promoter and the Pepkor group under any applicable law, as contemplated above. This consent shall, in the absence of written withdrawal, remain valid for the duration required by law. 

32. If consent has been granted, the Promoter and the Pepkor group of companies will not sell, transfer, rent, or otherwise make available any personal information about participants to third parties. Participants indemnify the Promoter and the Pepkor group from any unintentional disclosures of such information to unauthorised persons. 

33. Should a participant believe that the Promoter or Pepkor group has used their personal information contrary to applicable law, they shall first raise such concerns directly with the Promoter. If unresolved, participants may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa. 

34. Participants may choose to be excluded from direct marketing communications by notifying the Promoter in writing or by registering a block on any registry recognised by law. The Promoter will not charge a fee to update this request and will give effect to changes as soon as reasonably possible. 

35. By entering this Competition, participants consent to being contacted by the Promoter solely for Competition-related communication. 

36. The Promoter’s decision regarding any aspect of the Competition is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into. 

37. Ackermans reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or amend the Competition in the event of technical failure, natural disaster, or any other circumstance beyond its control. 

38. Participation in the Competition constitutes full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. 

39. These Terms and Conditions, and any disputes arising therefrom, are governed by and will be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the country where a participant enters.
