You're covered for almost any event

Your device is covered against theft, accidental physical damage and accidental loss, for the duration of the policy. In this case "accidental" refers to any unfortunate accident that you couldn't have known would happen and that you didn't intend to happen. Also, remember to make a note of the place and time of the accident if this happens to you.

 

Your device will be replaced in full

If your insured device is lost, stolen or damaged, we'll give you an Ackermans voucher for the same value of the item when you originally insured it.

 
 

Once-off payment

Make a once-off payment, which is calculated on the price of your insured device, when you buy your policy in-store.

 

No excess payments

You won't be required to make excess payments when you claim for a new device, within the terms and conditions of your policy, in order to get vouchers for a new one.

In-store with an agent

Apply at select Ackermans stores, where an agent will explain the policy to you and help you fill out the application form, and then send it in on your behalf.

 

Complete an in-store activation without an agent

The policy pack you buy in-store will have an application form inside of it. Complete the entire form (filling in every piece of information it asks for) and send it to the administrator by:

SMS YOUR APPLICATION

SMS your name and surname, ID number, type of device, make and model, the device number, insured value, till slip transaction number and policy number to 31457. *Standard SMS rates apply.

how do I claim?

If you need to claim, you'll need to do the following at your own cost:

 
  • Step 1:

  • Phone one of our administrators on 086 137 5878 (during office hours), within 30 days, to let us know that you’d like to claim.
  • You'll need to give our administrator a cellphone number that we can reach you on.
  • The administrator will log your claim and send you an SMS with your claim number.
  • The administrator will fax or email the claim form to you and let you know which supporting documents they'll need to process your claim.
 
  • Step 2:

  • If your item is stolen or lost, please blacklist the item on the service provider's network and file a report with the police within 30 days of the theft or notify them if it is lost.
  • Give the administrator a copy of the case number and affidavit.
 
 
  • Step 3:

  • If your device is damaged, let the administrator know. They will arrange for the device to be collected and inspected, as long as you and your device are in South Africa. Please note: We will pay for the cost of collecting the device.
